The foundation stone of a new Macedonian church in Berlin was laid
Today in Berlin, the act of consecrating the foundation stone for a new church dedicated to "Saint Kliment Ohridski" was performed. The consecration was performed by His Beatitude Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid and Macedonia in cooperation with the Metropolitan of the European Diocese, Mr. Pimen and the Metropolitan of the Tetovo-Gostivar Diocese Mr. Joseph with numerous clergy from Europe.
A rich cultural and artistic program was organized with the music group "Dominanta" and Angel Stojkoski and the folklore ensemble "Macedonian Sun" from Dusseldorf in front of the many believers who followed the act of consecration of the foundation stone of the new building.
It is assumed that around 10.000 Orthodox Macedonians live in Berlin and its surroundings.
The plan for building a church was prepared by the architect Elena Tsoneva.
