The leader of the Austrian People's Party (UPP), former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, is retiring from politics.

Kurz will be replaced by Austrian Interior Minister Carl Nehammer as party leader.

Kurz successfully led the OGP and won 2019 percent of the vote in the last elections in 37.

So far, it has been speculated that Kurz may return to the top of politics after the investigation against him is completed.

Kurz is scheduled to address the media at 11:30 p.m.

Kurz resigned as chancellor on October 9 after being accused of bribery, corruption and breach of trust.
