Norwegian skier Axel Lund Svindal, 39, has announced that he has been diagnosed with testicular cancer, but the good news is that it was detected at an early stage.

- The last few weeks have been difficult for me, but I can say that they are weeks, not months, because of medical help, a little luck and a good decision - announced Svindal.

Svindal, who retired in 2019, is a two-time Olympic champion, winning gold in the super giant slalom at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the downhill at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, and has five world championships and two overall titles. at the World Cup (2007, 2009).

In addition, there are nine small Crystal Globes (five in downhill, two in super giant slalom and one each in giant slalom and combined).
