The popular Greek resort of Pefkohori against arrogant tourists: You will pay a fine for this
Leaving personal beach paraphernalia, including beach umbrellas, towels and sunbeds, all in order to reserve a place on the beach, even when they are not staying on it, has become a real nasty trend that is spreading, as in The Adriatic coast, as well as on the beaches in Greece.
This time, the local community of a Greek holiday resort, which is also a favorite of Macedonians, has decided to stand in the way of such arrogant behavior of tourists.
On the Facebook page in the Greek town Pefkochori, one of the most popular vacation spots on Halkidiki, a notice was published yesterday stating that it is forbidden to leave personal belongings on the beach due to "reservation".
"It is forbidden to leave personal belongings on the beaches overnight, early in the morning in order to reserve sunbathing spots. Otherwise, they will be confiscated by the communal wardens and will be returned only after paying the fines," the announcement reads.
In the post, the authenticity of which is referred to by the Greek portal Voria, it is not specified how much penalty is prescribed for leaving personal belongings on the beach for enjoyment.
