Madonna's younger brother died of cancer at the age of 63
The younger brother of pop queen Madonna, Christopher Ciccone, died from cancer at age 63, two weeks after their 81-year-old stepmother, Joan Claire Ciccone, died of the same disease.
The two worked closely together throughout Madonna's career, but in 2008 there was a conflict after Christopher published the book "Life with my sister Madonna" in which he revealed many of her secrets, reports the Sun newspaper.
Christopher's publicist confirmed to TMZ that the artist, interior decorator and designer died on Friday in Michigan.
Christopher worked as a designer and stylist, but also as a director.
Madonna and Christopher grew up together in Michigan, and then he moved with his sister to New York, where her rise to fame began.
However, when Christopher wrote his bestseller, there was a deterioration in their relationship. He found in the book that Madonna was a middle-class girl who made up a story that she found herself in Times Square with only a pair of ballet flats and $35 in her pocket.
However, their relationship improved in 2012 and Christopher told the Evening Standard that contact with his sister is now good.
Like other Madonna brothers, Christopher also struggled with alcohol and drug addiction, and the singer even paid for part of his treatment.
Madonna, broken by pain, published a series of photos with Christopher on her Instagram profile, with which she said goodbye to him.
"He was the closest person to me for so long. It's hard to explain our relationship..." Madonna wrote next to the photos with Christopher.
