Police fine 155 pedestrians for "running across the street", controls will continue

The Ministry of Interior informs that yesterday (27.05.2022) they carried out an intensified action control on the territory of the whole of Macedonia for sanctioning the offenses committed by pedestrians. Thereby, a total of 166 pedestrians were sanctioned, out of which 155 for unsafe crossing of the street outside the pedestrian crossing, and five for crossing at a red light.

During the control, 111 other violations were registered.

- The intensified traffic controls continue in the coming days. We appeal to the citizens to respect the traffic rules and regulations. Pedestrians should cross the road at a marked pedestrian crossing because non-compliance with traffic rules will be sanctioned. "Together, by respecting the rules, we must contribute to safer roads," said the police.
