In the Swiss resort of Burgenstock, the peace summit for Ukraine began today, at the opening of which the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, declared that freezing the conflict in Ukraine is not a solution, but a recipe for future wars.

- Freezing the conflict today, with the occupation of Ukrainian land by foreign military troops, is not a solution. It is a recipe for future wars. Instead, it is necessary to support a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace for Ukraine. The one who restores the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine - Von der Leyen said, the British media reported.

The summit attended by about 100 delegations began without French President Emmanuel Macron, who was late, Swiss media reports.
