The payment of the damage caused by the fire in "Global" in Strumica has started

Today began the payment of part of the damage to 50 legal entities and 20 individuals from the big fire that affected TC "Global" in Strumica last year on January 2. They will receive 20 percent of the total reported damage, ie 13 million denars will be distributed.

He announced this today Mayor Kostadin Kostadinov, who announced on his Facebook profile that the Municipality of Strumica and the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia did not leave them alone and did not forget the owners of shops and stalls that were involved in the fire.

The Commission for assessment and determination of the amount of damage caused by natural disasters and other accidents in the Municipality of Strumica found that the total damage from the fire in the shopping center "Global" to the owners of stalls and shops is a total of 65.609.589 or over one million euros. Last year, a total of 70 claims for damage assessment were submitted and accepted to the Commission, of which 20 were from individuals and 50 from legal entities.

The fire, which broke out on the night of January 2 last year, burned one third of the City Market, several shops on the ground floor and the first floor, part of the second and third, and the roof collapsed.

In the past year, "Global" has been 95 percent completely renovated, and special attention was paid to the hydrant network and the safety of the facility.
