Seraphim Fimco Muratovski died - one of the doyen of the Macedonian music, opera and ballet scene

On the 91 years old today Seraphim Fimco Muratovski, retired conductor and professor at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, died.

With more than 40 years of artistic performance, Fimco Muratovski is one of the doyens of the Macedonian music, opera, and ballet scene, as well as the concert podiums in the country.

He completed his musical education at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, and then spent a one-year specialization stay at the Conservatory in St. Petersburg. Since 1959, he has been constantly engaged, first in the Opera and Ballet of the Macedonian National Theater, then as a conductor and director of the Macedonian Philharmonic, to end his working life as a full professor at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, of which he was dean for two years. the mandate.

In the course of his artistic activity, he staged and conducted more than 40 opera and ballet works from the classical, contemporary and domestic repertoire, and on the concert stage he performed a large number of symphonic and chamber works with a special emphasis on domestic creativity, which he propagated with special affinity throughout the numerous visits to former Yugoslavia, Poland, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, the former Soviet republics, Mexico, etc.

He was the founder and conductor of the Youth and Macedonian Chamber Orchestras, and the conductor and artistic director of the MRTV Chamber Orchestra. In the course of his educational activity as a professor, passing on his rich artistic experience, he educated generations of young conductors, singers and orchestral musicians who are still successfully working and acting in the country and abroad.

Throughout his many years of activity in the cultural and public life, he was the holder of several social functions, and for his activity he was the winner of several awards and recognitions - the award of the City of Skopje "November 13" in 1969, the republic award "October 11" in 1977 ., as well as the same Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.

The funeral of Fimcho Muratovski will take place tomorrow, on 14 September, at the city cemetery in Butel, and the remains will be displayed in the chapel from 13:14 to XNUMX:XNUMX, according tothe estate of the deceased Fimcho Muratovski.
