Former MP Tomislav Stojanovski-Bombay has died

He died today in his native Tetovo at the age of 81 Tomislav Stojanovski-Bombay, former prominent politician, Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia and leader of the Democratic Party of Macedonia (DPM).

He was elected Member of Parliament in the 1994 elections and spent the entire term in the Parliament, in which he was remembered as a tireless speaker and uncompromising fighter for the strengthening of the young Macedonian democracy. Bombay was also a candidate for mayor of Tetovo in 2009.

Stojanovski also worked as the director of energy maintenance of the former textile giant "Teteks", and was a longtime director of the Agricultural High School "Mosha Pijade" in Tetovo, which under his leadership achieved its greatest growth and greatest success as an educational institution.

After retiring, Stojanovski founded and for years held the Tetovo Folk Festival, which was held in the monastery complex in the village of Leshok.
