Magician Gloria Dee has died at the age of 100
Gloria D, billed as the first female magician to perform on what would become the Las Vegas Strip in the early 40s, died on 100 years old.
Dee died Saturday at her residence in Las Vegas, said LaNe Jenkins, director of clinical services for Valley Hospital, who was one of Dee's caregivers. By the way, a memorial is planned for Gloria Dee.

Gloria was 19 when she made her debut at El Rancho Vegas on May 14, 1941, and appeared in several films throughout the 1940s and 1950s, including King Kong, starring Buster Crabbe, in 1952.
Dee moved from California to Las Vegas in 1980, and the famous magician David Copperfield befriended her in later years, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
– Gloria was amazing. She was charming, funny and attractive. And in Vegas, as a young magician, she started it all. It was an honor to know her - said Copperfield to the newspaper after her death.
She was to have been inducted into the UNLV College of Fine Arts Hall of Fame on Tuesday night.

Gloria's show at the Roundup Room is the first recorded appearance by a magician in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Sunday.
- There was no Las Vegas Strip in those days - Gloria told the newspaper last August, when she turned 100 years old.
After moving to California, Dee appeared in several films, including Mexicana in 1945 and the sci-fi film Plan 9 from Outer Space in 1957, the Daily Mail reports.
