The American actor Kenneth Mitchell died at the age of 50. His family shared the sad news on social media.

"It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend, has passed away," reads the caption of the photo, which shows Mitchell with his family.

As "Deadline" writes, the actor has been battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for the past five years.

Kenneth Mitchell was born in Toronto on November 25, 1974 and became known for his roles in Captain Marvel, Miracle, Jericho, The Astronaut Wives Club, Ghost Whisperer, Switched at Birth, Star Trek: Discovery", "Star Trek: Lower Decks" and others.
