After controversial video, Scarlett Johansson calls for a ban on deepfake technology: We must point out the abuse of artificial intelligence
Scarlett Johansson has called on the US government to pass legislation to limit the use of artificial intelligence after a video of her “deepfake” surfaced online. Speaking to People magazine, Johansson said:

"It is frightening that the US government is paralyzed when it comes to enacting laws that would protect all of its citizens from the immediate dangers of artificial intelligence."
Reaction to anti-Semitic comments
The controversial video shows Johansson, along with other Jewish celebrities such as Jerry Seinfeld, Mila Kunis, Jack Black, Drake, Jake Gyllenhaal and Adam Sandler, wearing T-shirts with the words "Kanye" and a picture of a middle finger with a Star of David in the center.
This footage emerged shortly after Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) returned to the X platform last week, where he had been posting anti-Semitic comments. He also began selling swastika T-shirts on his website, which has since been removed.
"I am a Jewish woman who has zero tolerance for anti-Semitism or hate speech of any kind," Johansson told People.
"But I also firmly believe that the potential for the spread of hate speech through artificial intelligence is a much bigger threat than any one person taking responsibility for it. We must point out the misuse of artificial intelligence, regardless of the message it conveys, or we risk losing touch with reality," the actress said.
