The dilemmas and developments around "Bass Rapid Transit" (BRT) - the system and free public transport in Skopje were part of the topics of tonight Top Topic on Telma, in which the councilors from the City of Skopje, Martin Popov from SDSM and Stefan Andonovski from VMRO-DPMNE debated.

They exchanged many arguments about the main promises of the election campaign, but also accusations about the previous and current leaderships of the city.

Andonovski blamed the previous mayor Petre Shilegov for non-domestic work due to which he left the municipal budget ruined as after the war. He says that he started projects only to advertise them and to leave them a little later. Regarding the BRT system and the latest information that appeared in the public that the project will be stopped, he pointed out that there are several options how to continue and does not rule out the possibility of a referendum, but claims that citizens do not understand what that system is. , and what it will bring.

Andonovski also accused that in JSP, "by order of Shilegov, the double-decker buses were deliberately sabotaged".

For Popov, however, these accusations are not serious.

"I am sure that these accusations are not substantiated, because from what I have as information is that the double-decker buses, which I would like to remind you have cases in the Public Prosecutor's Office, for the way they were procured, there was no way to procure parts. JSP was facing a problem how to service them. "It was a bad procurement, which we know how it resulted," Popov said.
