150.000 denars of initial aid for each family affected by the tragedy in Kocani
Each family affected by the tragedy in Kocani will initially receive 150.000 denars to cover current expenses, informed Marija Miteva, spokesperson for the Government. The Government appeals to citizens who wish to donate funds for the families and patients to do so only through the official account of the Red Cross in order to avoid any possibility of misuse of personal data and harm to families.

-The government has asked not to speculate with information that families and patients need financial support for treatment. That is not true. All patients have received treatment, and will be provided by the state. At this moment, not all families need care from such an aspect. In terms of transportation and accommodation, that is also the obligation and concern of the Government. 180 people from the families of people hospitalized abroad have been taken care of. We were informed by the Red Cross that a formal and legal adjustment and assessment is being made through which all families affected by the terrible tragedy will be given financial support, starting with 150.000 denars for each family and the same funds will be used to cover current and daily urgent expenses. This is not a one-time aid. - said Miteva.
She informed that the Red Cross teams, the General and Common Affairs Service and the Government are contacting the families every three hours in order to ensure whether there are any new and undesirable conditions. Miteva appeals to citizens to show solidarity, but also not to speculate that the families need money for treatment.
Regarding calls on social media for direct donations to families and for organizations that share transaction accounts with families, Miteva pointed out that this involves sharing personal information about families, which, according to legal regulations, could lead to a situation where personal data is misused and harm is done to families.
-It is no coincidence that the government announced that it will go with a dedicated, official Red Cross account to avoid speculation about where the money will be donated - said Miteva.
