The new novel "Vetrilishte" by Igor Angelkov published by "Ili-ili" was published on November 5. With the new literary publication, the author celebrates several anniversaries: the tenth published book, the fifth novel, literary coming of age (eighteen years since the publication of the debut collection of short stories "Meek Stories"), and all this on his fiftieth birthday.

- Igor Angelkov's fifth novel, his tenth book, despite the brutal honesty and the stripping of both the text and the author, manages to preserve the potent "indeterminacy" as a carefully chosen ending. But that is what the text both deserves and demands from the finish line.

Romanizing everything that we all think or keep silent, Angjelkov remains consistently inconsistent, his own, authentic, constructed and indispensable novelist in the contemporary Macedonian literature of the last, almost, two decades. The oxymoron "consistently inconsistent" perfectly complements "separating the extraordinary to depict the everyday as realistically as possible" as his creative credo.

It is up to the readers to decide whether they will perceive (not) receiving awards as an everyday or an extraordinary practice in the domestic cultural context. And, what is even more intriguing, the question that remains hovering over "Vetrilishte", but also over all of us, is whether and what can the awards change when they come or when they don't? Do they need literature more than they need it? - emphasizes the eminent writer and critic Olivera Qorveziroska in the foreword of the book.
