Petrov: MPs in the Parliament swear before the Constitution and the citizens, notarized statements are not valid here
"Deputies in the Assembly swear before the Constitution and before the citizens who elected them. For MPs, regardless of their party, their conviction is important. Notary declarations are not valid here, as we have examples from other countries, the deputies decide autonomously, independently of the party," said the member of the Executive Board of the SDSM. Andrej Petrov, in Channel 5's Just the Truth.
He added that the awareness of the assumed obligations of the country, that is, the inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution, should ferment.
"Regardless of whether you are the government or the opposition, we present the state to the international community and as a state we have an obligation that has been undertaken and needs to be implemented. The subject of constitutional amendments has been raised disproportionately high in the public debate," Petrov said.
He added that this is a topic that has been debated for a long time and that some of the people who are now opposing it were conspirators to include certain communities in the Preamble of the Constitution.
