According to Petkovic, Kurti is "afraid" of President Vucic's visit, because "he knows what it means for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija."

The director of the Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Petar Petkovic, criticized the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who said that he will not allow the visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to Kosovo.

In an interview with Clan Media Kosovo, on March 30, Kurti said that "Given the current circumstances, Vucic will not be a wanted person in Kosovo. I don't think he should come to the Republic of Kosovo."

In March of this year, Vucic himself said that he hopes to be able to visit Kosovo by the end of the year. Within the framework of the technical dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, with the mediation of the European Union, the two countries reached an agreement on official visits, which entered into force on December 1, 2014, but according to the agreement, the EU must also be informed.

With the mediation of the EU and the support of the USA, the two countries have been in negotiations for the normalization of relations since 2011. On March 18, the two countries agreed on the annex for the implementation of the Normalization Agreement, which the parties agreed on on February 27 in Brussels. The 11-article agreement, announced on February 27, does not oblige Serbia to recognize Kosovo, but requires the two countries to accept each other's documents and symbols, including: passports, diplomas and license plates.

Kosovo and Serbia have reached dozens of agreements since the beginning of the dialogue, but most of them have not been implemented and the parties accuse each other of stagnation.
