Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, who arrives in the country on Tuesday, for meetings with the new government, says that he does not bring with him any annex to the Agreement on Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, but comes with constructive tone and readiness for a new beginning, which will be more dynamic, more practical, free from the previous declarative commitments and focused on the specific important issues that affect the everyday life of the citizens of both countries.

Petkov, who is the first foreign statesman to visit Northern Macedonia after the election of the new government, in an interview with MIA talks about whether he will bring with him an annex to the agreement, something that has been speculated about in the past period.

- No no. I come with a constructive tone and readiness to start working together. I do not have a document ready or anything, because all those documents have no point, if we do not give them real motivation that we have to do the job. I suggest that we leave the documents as a second step, and start first, so that there is something we will write about in the next document. Otherwise, the danger is that we will write a document and after that. Here, the task is to make a program, to make the working groups, to start a dialogue, to have a sense of mutual trust and that there are good intentions from both sides and to set goals, which we want to achieve in the shortest possible time. , Petkov emphasizes for MIA.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister, who assessed it as very constructive the telephone conversation he had with Prime Minister-designate Dimitar Kovechevki and expressed confidence that the two as people from the economic and business spheres have similar energy to move things forward, expressed hope that during the visit they will agree on the formation of five working groups - on economy, culture, infrastructure, European integration and history.

Cooperation and good neighborliness says Petkov, they should strengthen the interest groups in a certain sphere, not the politicians. The purpose of the visit, he added, is to make a program for the meetings of those working groups, which would meet each of them once a month, which would make progress on all issues.

- We need to constantly communicate, to progress. My hopes are that in the coming months I will try to agree on that during our visit, when I come we will make those five working groups - for economy, culture, infrastructure, European integration and history. I do not want only politicians to come and speak, when I talk about economics I want to see all our companies that want and have interest in the Republic of Northern Macedonia, all companies from your country that have interest in Bulgaria. Politicians are not needed at that meeting, at that meeting people are needed who want to work, to do business together, adds Petkov, who notes that he personally as Prime Minister can not understand how there is still no direct flight between Skopje and Sofia .

Petkov also spoke about the session of the Bulgarian Security Council, which was convened specifically on the topic of Northern Macedonia and that it creates the impression that Bulgaria's neighbor is the biggest security problem during a pandemic, energy crisis, deteriorating Russian-Ukrainian relations. In an interview with MIA, he also referred to the deadlines, the previously set six-month deadline for resolving the dispute, and now after the Consultative Security Council on the position expressed by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev that deadlines are not needed, but are needed. real results.

- In fact, we can for the time for which we will finish our work. I want to say that. So now if I say a certain term, six months, we start with the same declarativeness. We need to see what the issues are, how we will solve them. The deadline depends only on the readiness of each party to shake hands and finish the work together, says Petkov.

In an interview with MIA, the Bulgarian Prime Minister stressed that there are easy things, but also more difficult and sensitive ones that need to be addressed.

- I think that a friendly, constructive approach should be able to solve both easy and difficult topics. But, because the most important thing is to have trust and I hope that we will build that trust with the things we do together, said Petkov, who added that with a constructive dialogue all those issues are solvable.

In an interview with MIA, Petkov also spoke about the destructive forces in both Northern Macedonia and Bulgaria, which tend to retreat and work against good neighborliness, the fight against corruption in his country, but also in a wider context in the Balkan region.

- We need to cleanse all those who earn on the backs of our peoples. Because there is a small group of people who make money through corruption at the expense of everyone else. "I think they are part of the destructive elements that are connected and that raise the question of whether or not good neighborliness between the two countries is good or not," Petkov said.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister also referred to the expectations of his country to join the Eurozone, the pressures on Bulgaria to resolve the dispute, the situation in the Balkans…
