Peskov: We are still ready for negotiations, but now the conditions are different

The spokesman of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, said today that the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, emphasized that Moscow remains ready for negotiations with Ukraine, but that the situation and conditions have changed.

- The President stated that Russia remains ready for negotiations. But the situation has changed, and so have the conditions, Peskov pointed out.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said yesterday that Putin told Erdogan that there is a possibility to return to negotiations with Kyiv, but under new conditions.

Çavuşoğlu in Tokyo, where he is attending the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, indicated that Putin said this in a conversation with him on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which was recently held in Samarkand.
