Pensioners revolted that their thousand was "torn", three months of aid have expired
With the September pension, there will be a new increase in pensions, according to the new methodology of pension adjustment - 50 percent increase in the cost of living and 50 percent increase in the average salary. But how to bridge this period?
The payment of the pensions started on Tuesday, and with them came the disappointment that they are lower by 1.000 denars. Some of the retirees are confused and ask why they received a lower pension, and some of them understand that it was a temporary measure, but what most of them have in common is the dissatisfaction that they received a lower pension during a drastic jump in prices.
Social networks are also full of negative comments, and the pensioners are publicly calling on the President of the Pensioners' Union Stanka Trajkova to put pressure on the Government to help and protect the pension standard.
Trajkova for "Sloboden Pecat" says that despite the efforts of the Union to provide assistance outside the pension, until the new harmonization of pensions arrives, the assessment from the Ministry of Finance was that assistance of 1.000 denars is possible for each pensioner within 3 months and that money is paid with the previous pensions.
- With the September pension there will be a new increase in pensions, according to the new methodology of pension adjustment - 50 percent with an increase in the cost of living and 50 percent with an increase in the average salary. According to some estimates, pensions may increase by 8 to 9 percent, but still, let's wait for the official data. For this two-month vacuum period, we expect anti-crisis measures that take into account the pensioners - not all, but those with lower incomes and advanced age, who can not be hired additionally - says Trajkova.
She explains that the anti-crisis measures must wait for the adoption of the budget rebalance, but also that for each measure there must be legal changes.
- We expect these anti-crisis measures to be valid retroactively, even if with a delay, to help bridge the vacuum period until the increase of pensions - says Trajkova.
She believes that the Government with solutions outside the pension system should help retirees to have a better standard, because unrealistic percentages of pension growth can not be demanded that will make the pension system unsustainable.
