Pentagon halts all social media posts

The Pentagon has issued an order for an immediate global pause on all social media posts except those related to the military operation on the southern border, occur American media.

The order, approved by US President Donald Trump, will remain in effect until a new Secretary of Defense is confirmed and makes a contrary decision.

The break will last for several days, until instructions are issued for all military and civilian employees in charge of social media.

The announcements will focus only on topics related to "wartime readiness and capability," Pentagon officials said.

The pause applies only to social media, while press releases and information about ongoing military operations will continue to be available through official government websites. The networks will not be shut down nor will previous posts be removed.
