Pendarovski in a meeting with Azule: Macedonia attaches great importance to cooperation with UNESCO

The President Stevo Pendarovski today he met with the Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azule, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Macedonia's membership in the organization.

At the meeting, as informed by the President's Cabinet, the possibilities for expanding cooperation through the implementation of projects in the fields of culture, education, science, the environment, information and communication technologies, youth programs, civil society and human rights were discussed.

President Pendarovski emphasized that our country attaches great importance to the cooperation with UNESCO, promotes and participates in its activities and initiatives, and realizes active and constructive cooperation with other member states of this organization, the announcement states.

He expressed his gratitude for the fact that UNESCO recognizes the importance of the Macedonian poet Aco Shopov and joined the celebration of the 100th anniversary of his birth, evaluating it as a recognition of the values ​​that Shopov promoted through his rich work.

Pendarovski has been attending since yesterday the celebration of two jubilees in France, 100 years since the birth of the famous Macedonian poet Aco Shopov and 30 years since Macedonian membership in UNESCO.

The events are held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Part of the National Program "2023 - Year in honor of Aco Shopov", which is implemented under the auspices of President Pendarovski.
