The State Market Inspectorate (DPI) is on the ground and monitors the prices of the products from the "New Year's basket" action. Price monitoring is carried out in accordance with the Law on Consumer Protection and the Law on Trade, that is, the current prices of the products included in the "New Year's basket" list are seen together with the lowest prices of the same products that have been applied in the last 30 days.

As the DPI informs, the purpose of the monitoring is to determine whether, after the start of the "New Year's Basket" action, traders will adhere to the given initiative on their part for a promotional price reduction of 10 percent or more on food products that are sold the most in during the New Year holidays.

Citizens can find the list of food products that are part of the "New Year's basket" on the website www.mojakosnica.mk. It is about over 700 products, offered by a total of over 100 companies and manufacturers and distributors. The products on the list that will be offered on the shelves of commercial chains will be marked with a sticker and logo "Less costs, more for you", as part of the Government's campaign that will contribute to a significant increase in the standard of living of citizens and a reduction in the costs of life.

The action "New Year's Basket" will be implemented from December 15 to January 15, 2025. During this period, as they announce, the Market Inspectorate will have reinforced controls on the ground and will act in accordance with its competences.

- In addition, citizens can report irregularities on the free phone number 191 or on our website www.dpi.gov.mk, according to the announcement from the DPI.
