The report on the condition of the road where the bus accident took place last week, in which 45 Macedonian citizens were killed and seven were injured, confirmed that this is not a highway, but an expressway. The road, according to Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Komitova, did not have ACT 16 because the expropriation proceedings had not been completed.

However, according to Komitova, it can not be argued that the speed limit of 120 km per hour is the main cause of the accident.

- There is a strange event here - fire, which in my opinion is the main reason for the victims, said Komitova at yesterday's press briefing, adding that so far there is no explanation as to what caused the fire.

By the date of the accident, marking only the center line had been completed, with a delay of about six months. The marking of this section and the placement of the signs is assigned to two companies with the same owner. Both companies were supposed to set up the alarm. In 2013, they set the speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour, and the protective fence, when it was installed in 2007, met the requirements, but from 2021, according to Komitova, there are new rules.

Meanwhile, in the country, the opposition continues to demand accountability from the government. VMRO-DPMNE spokeswoman Marija Miteva yesterday demanded that the government take responsibility, instead of protecting companies.

- The government should answer whether it is true that the bus is factory intended for transport of 49 passengers and as such is imported and the vehicle was initially registered on Prilep license plates, and after a few days the bus was resold and re-registered on Skopje license plates? After only a few months in the traffic license, did the purpose, ie the payload, increase to 54 passengers, ie to more than 10 percent above the factory established? Who did the homologation - attestation and approved it? Could the bus not have been properly licensed for international transport due to this dubious change? The public deserves to get the answer to the question how many times so far the Ministry of Interior has reported deficiencies through official notes to the Besa Trans bus inspectorate and why the inspectorate did not conduct an extraordinary inspection of Besa Trans? According to the legal regulations, according to Article 353-c of the Criminal Code for negligent work in the service, responsibility should be borne. Is director Husseini protecting other carriers? Is it true that in Gostivar for 7 years there are no promoted people who meet the requirements for inspectors, and are kept in low positions just so that there is no one to carry out inspections in companies ?, Miteva asked.

By the end of the working week, according to the announcements, the bodies of the dead are expected to be brought to the country. As announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani, the bodies will be brought by plane after which they will be handed over to the families through an organized state protocol.

- After the conversation with the Bulgarian prosecutor from Sofia, in charge of the tragedy of November 23, Sarafov, I want to inform the public that a decision has been made to hand over the bodies of our fellow citizens who lost their lives in the tragic accident on Thursday, December 2. The Government of R. Bulgaria accepted our request for the transfer from Sofia to Skopje to be made by plane to the Republic of Macedonia. Bulgaria, while from Skopje International Airport, through an organized state protocol the same or the next day, Friday, December 3, the remains will be handed over to the families in their homes, Osmani announced on Facebook on Monday.

From the "Pirgov" hospital in Sofia, where the seven injured were hospitalized, five have been fired so far, and two more remain in treatment. Initially, two patients who have already been released for home treatment were transported to Skopje, and then three more patients.

The bus crash happened on the night between November 22nd and 23rd, when a Besa Trans bus returning from Istanbul caught fire on Struma Road near Sofia.
