Jordan sneakers from debut season go up for auction, will sell for a record amount
The sneakers that Michael Jordan wore in 1984 in his debut season will be auctioned, and according to initial estimates are expected to sell for between 1-1.5 million dollars.
It is a model of "Nike Air Ship" sneakers, and the auction will be held on October 24 in Las Vegas.
Jordan wore these sneakers to the Denver Nuggets on November 1, 1984, and it was his fifth NBA game. The expectations are that the sneakers will be sold for a record amount, ie they will be sold for more than a million dollars.
The maximum amount paid so far for a pair of sneakers is 615.000 dollars in August last year. These were Nike Air Jordan1 sneakers that Michael Jordan wore in 1985.
It is interesting that the sneakers that will be sold at the auction are the ones that Jordan gave to a collector from Denver after the match and even signed them.
This model of sneakers was designed by Bruce Kilgore, who created a special line of sneakers for Jordan as a talented basketball player and potential superstar.
But the NBA banned the wearing of these sneakers because of the rules of dress for the matches, and Jordan earned a $ 5.000 fine every time he wore our sneakers.
