Kurti's party aims for 500.000 votes in Kosovo elections

Albulena Haxhiu, Minister of Justice and a senior official of Self-Determination, in an interview with "Alsat" said that Self-Determination's goal is to win 500.000 votes in the February 9 elections, describing them as the most important elections. She said that with such support they would be able to form the next government without being conditioned by the Serbian list. Haxhiu said that they should not depend on this entity or entities that she called an outdated club.

"We have set ourselves a goal that they call arrogance. This is not arrogance, this is a goal that we have set ourselves to win 500 thousand hearts of Kosovo citizens, 500 thousand votes, in order to continue unhindered, without any conditions from any of the political entities - this refers to the Serbian list, therefore we should not depend on this political entity, nor on the political entities that we call an outdated club of political parties," said Haxhiu.

Asked about Kosovo's relations with the United States after Trump's election as president, Haxhiu said that relations are good and America is an important ally.

"We have powerful allies, but of course we have our own positions when it comes to negotiations with Serbia. Kurti's government has shown and proven that it does not make agreements that are contrary to the Republic of Kosovo, it does not push forward the Union, whose goal is to Bosnianize the Republic of Kosovo, so of course we will defend our positions, we will argue for them. We will work to move forward, but we never make concessions and agreements that threaten Kosovo and the interests of our citizens," added Haxhiu.

Haxhiu said that Kurti's government during this mandate managed to reject many of Serbia's demands, citing the ban on Serbian elections in Kosovo, the referendum, and others. She accused the opposition of not wanting Kosovo to expand its sovereignty to the north, due to the bargains they made at the expense of Kosovo and its citizens./
