Pope Francis, eOne year after the explosion in the port of Beirut, which killed 214 people, today he asked for help from Lebanon in a "concrete" way and expressed a desire to visit the country.
"J"And I call on the international community, which I ask to help Lebanon on the path to resurrection, with concrete deeds, not just words." said the Pope to the general audience.

In that sense, it is possible France and the United Nations are holding a conference on humanitarian aid for Lebanon, which is currently under way.

"Dear Lebanese, my desire to visit you is great and I pray for you unceasingly for Lebanon to become again a message of brotherhood and peace for the whole Middle East," Pope Francis said.

Vatican Foreign Minister Archbishop Paul Gallagher said last month that Pope Francis could visit Lebanon later this year or early next, even if no government is formed.
