Pope Francis called not to forget the other wars raging around the world. Returning from a trip to South Sudan and the Congo, the pope addressed Syria and Yemen, where wars have raged for more than a decade.

Pope Francis also mentioned the conflicts in Myanmar and the expulsion of the Rohingya, as well as the conflict in South America, where he was born.

"There are wars that seem more important because they make more noise," Francis said. "But the whole world is at war and self-destruction," he added.

February 24 marks the anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine. From the beginning, Francis has been praying for peace in that country and in almost all his speeches he mentions the people who are suffering.

Travel to Kyiv remains impossible, the pope said, adding that he would like to go to the Ukrainian capital, but also to Moscow, in the hope of a ceasefire. But as he says, he is not welcome there.
