Seasonal allergic rhinitis or hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen. It causes inflammation and swelling of the mucous membrane of the nose and the protective tissue of the eyes (conjunctiva). Symptoms include sneezing, congestion (stuffy feeling) and itching, watery eyes, nose and mouth. Treatment options include oral antihistamines, nasal steroids, nasal antihistamines, and nasal cromolyn. In some people, allergic asthma symptoms (wheezing, wheezing, coughing and/or chest tightness) may be triggered by pollen exposure.

Every fifth person suffers from some form of allergy, which most often causes sneezing, runny and itchy nose, swollen eyelids, shortness of breath…

Allergies are unusual, abnormal reactions of the body to certain substances that we encounter in everyday life.

When we come into contact with them, the body secretes histamine, a substance with which we fight against these invaders.

To alleviate these symptoms, most people take certain medications, not knowing that herbs can be very helpful.

As far as allergic reactions are concerned, garlic, onion and hot pepper can be of great help because they contain quercetin, which has been proven to have anti-allergic effects.

It has been proven that blackcurrant leaf has an excellent effect on diseases caused by excessive, uncontrolled and inappropriate reactions of the immune system, therefore the tea, tincture and extract of this plant are also recommended for allergic diseases. In addition to flavonoids, currant leaves also contain tannins.

Tea for allergies

One of the ways to reduce allergy symptoms is the use of medicinal herbs that strengthen the immune system. In addition to following the pollen calendar, it is good to strengthen immunity with natural preparations, so that the spring season of allergies passes without problems.

Ingredients:

– 20 grams of rosehip fruit

– 15 grams of linden flower

– 10 grams of thyme

– 10 grams of chamomile flower

– 10 grams of fennel fruit

– 10 grams of mint leaf

– 5 grams of calendula flower

– 5 grams of black mallow flower

Preparation:

Add two tablespoons of tea to a liter of cold water. When it boils, let it simmer gently for a minute, then set aside for five minutes and strain. Drink the finished tea during the day. This recipe changes over time, that is, it adapts to the person, depending on the symptoms, so if you feel that some symptoms do not disappear, ask for advice from a phytotherapist.

Black currant leaf tea

Pour a full spoonful of dry blackcurrant leaves with 200 milliliters of boiling water, stir, cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Strain and drink unsweetened. Tea is drunk three times a day (always freshly prepared) between meals.

The use of blackcurrant oil and leaves has no effect if used in combination with corticosteroids, but can be combined with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Black marshmallow tea

Black mallow tea (Malva silvestris) and calendula oil (Calendulae oleum) eliminate allergic skin reactions. It is necessary to rinse the skin with tea and apply oil several times a day.

Black cumin oil

With the timely intake of black cumin oil, there is a great possibility that the allergy symptoms will be suppressed as much as possible.

Black cumin oil (Nigella sativa) is increasingly proving to be an excellent preparation for fighting allergies: Black cumin is not like echinacea, which quickly raises immune resources, so it needs a longer intake (at least two to three months). to have its full effect. In short, it is good to start using it two months before the pollen allergy season.

Some proponents of alternative medicine argue that people who are allergic to pollen should take small amounts of honey made from bees near where they live. In this way they gradually become immune to the pollen of local plants. It is recommended to take vitamin C, E and B complex.
