This is why you shouldn't make your bed in the morning
Good news for people who hate making their bed after getting up in the morning: it might be better to leave it unmade. According to research, your mattress is full of little bugs and these bugs just love it when you make their bed, writes "Tips and Tricks".
Hot and humid
In research published by Experimental & Applied Acarology, our beds are full of bugs called dust mites. And it's not just one bug living in your mattress. Apparently, there is 1,5 million dust mites who have made a home out of your beloved bed. Why? Because these little bugs simply love warm, dark and humid places. And your bed, after you've spent the night sleeping, dreaming and sweating in it, is the perfect place for them to nest. Especially if you pull the blankets over your hot and humid mattress right after you jump.
An unmade bed
The solution would be to just leave the bed unmade. Because a messy, unmade bed with the sheets crumpled up in a ball isn't that enticing to mites. Especially if you open the curtains a little to let in some sunlight. Mites do not like light.
Of course, you can make the bed at the end if you want. Just make sure the mattress and sheets are completely dry before doing so.
Another way to fight against mites is to wash the bedclothes frequently. And by often we mean once a week. Or get different types of bedding. That way you can replace your old sheets with new ones and you won't have to do the laundry every week!
You will have a clean bed, and the mites will have to find another place to live.
