Croatian Minister of Health Vili Beros confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the death of Index journalist Vladimir Matijanic.

Earlier, Index journalist Andrea Topic and life partner of 50-year-old Matijanic published a chronology of events in which she revealed that the emergency services did not want to hospitalize the journalist.

Namely, two hours before his death, the emergency team explained to him that it was normal symptoms of covid and they did not want to hospitalize him. Neither the emergency infectious disease clinic nor the doctor on duty responded.

Also, two days earlier, Matijanic was told in the hospital that there is a shortage of drugs in Croatia to prevent severe consequences of covid that are given to patients like him.

All this points to unreliable treatment, which is why an official investigation has been launched, writes Index.
