The actor (54) died from an overdose with a combination of heroin, cocaine, fentanyl and p-florofentanil, confirmed the chief pathologist of New York. The Office of the Chief Pathologist in New York said it had been determined that the actor had unfortunately died of an accidental overdose. Williams was unconscious when his nephew found him in the apartment on September 6.
The actor has spoken openly about his drug problems in the past. On one occasion, he revealed that while starring in The Wire, he used drugs "in scary places, with scary people." However, he said he had not taken "anything stronger" than cocaine and marijuana.
