After Ahmeti "self-excluded": The factionalists in the final battle to take over DUI from the "artanists"

Only the membership can decide who are the legitimate representatives of DUI and who weighs more, us or the ministers. The wording "self-exclusion" was invented by the "artanists", because there is no such thing in stout. That act is outrageous, undemocratic and another proof that the "artanists" usurped the party and we want to explain that to the membership, say the group of factionalists.

Participation in the meetings of the Central Presidency of the DUI, an extraordinary congress and a final battle on the ground to take over the party, are some of the scenarios of the "firemen", factionalists from the DUI that the party said had "self-excluded" from party functions.

The factionalists of DUI told "Sloboden Pechat" that they have neither withdrawn nor intend to leave the party. They call on the leader Ali Ahmeti and the presidency to respect the party statute and, if they want to exclude them, to convene the highest General Council and open a debate there.

The presidency of the DUI informed this weekend that it regrets that five members "removed themselves" from the leadership - meaning members of the "fire faction" - which should mean that Izet Mejetti is no longer the vice president, Blerim Bejetti is no longer the organizational secretary, and in the presidency not Visar Ganiu, Nevzat Beita and Saranda Imeri. For the time being, only Musa Xhaferi retained his position as the chairman of the DUI supervisory board, because he can only be dismissed by that party body.

"We were elected to the congress and the General Council for party functions, not to the Central Presidency, therefore the Presidency cannot decide in a secret meeting that we have allegedly resigned from our positions ourselves. Due to a disagreement, we left the meeting of the previous CP, but that does not mean that we withdrew from the Presidency. And not many MPs come to the parliamentary sessions, so the President of the Parliament does not exclude or change MPs", says Izet Majiti, one of the frontmen of the faction, for "Sloboden Pechat".

From there they say that only the membership can decide who are the legitimate representatives of DUI and who has more weight - they or the ministers. This means that the final showdown between the "artanists" (close to Artan Grubi) and the factionalists to take over the party has just begun. They leave room for Ali Ahmeti to remain the president of the party, on the condition that he clears up with the "artanists". In parallel with the meetings with the membership, the factionalists will demand that the General Council be convened and there a debate on their "self-exclusion" from the party functions be opened, and it is possible to demand an extraordinary congress of the party. They say that the "artanists" invented the wording "self-exclusion", because it is not found in stout. They consider that act as rude, undemocratic and as another proof that the "artanists" usurped the party and they want to explain this to the membership.

For the time being, the Central Presidency of DUI does not reveal whether they will fill the vacant positions by electing a new vice-president, organizational secretary and chairman of the supervisory board. The presidency announced after the secret meeting that it formalized the decision for elections in DUI branches that will be held on July 2. Before the "self-exclusion" of the factionalists, Ahmeti appointed Bujar Osmani as the coordinator of the Chair branch, and Rafiz Aliti was appointed as the coordinator for Saraj, where Blerim Bejeti is the mayor.
