Eight firefighters from TPPE Strumica will go on a rescue mission in the area affected by the strong earthquake in Turkey. They will be part of the wreckage search and rescue team (USAR team), which is part of the Republican Protection and Rescue Forces under the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.

This was announced by the mayor of Strumica, Kostadin Kostadinov, who said rescuers would help those affected by the earthquake.

- Our firefighters are specially trained for such disasters and have experience from the earthquake in Albania, Kostadinov wrote.

He adds that such disasters only point to the fact that humanity is powerless before the power of nature and its laws.

- But at the same time, such developments make it clear how humane and responsible we should be in the face of great challenges, to be people for people, the mayor of Strumica points out.

He expressed his deepest condolences to all citizens from Turkey and Syria, especially those from the areas affected by the earthquake, for the great human and material losses.
