An 27-year-old man from Prilep has been remanded in custody for eight days due to threats made against a candidate for mayor of Prilep and his family through the social network Facebook.

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Prilep informs that it has initiated a procedure for the crime "endangering security" against the suspect, who were detained yesterday at the border crossing Tabanovce upon entering the country and handed over for examination to the Prosecutor's Office.

The Public Prosecutor's Office adds that in order for the criminal procedure to run smoothly, the public prosecutor submitted a proposal to the competent court to determine detention against the suspect, and the pre-trial judge at the Basic Court in Prilep accepted the proposal and the suspect was remanded in custody for 8 days.
