Osmani: We are not giving Ukraine weapons to attack other countries, but to defend itself
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani explained today why we give military aid to Ukraine and stated that we cannot remain neutral and we do not give Ukraine weapons to attack another country, but to defend itself.
- Russia has violently and unjustifiably violated the basic principles of international law and international humanitarian law, the principles of the European security architecture that have maintained peace in Europe for the last 75 years and in our country. Our citizens enjoy peace, because after the Second World War, international order was established, said Osmani.
He reiterated that our attitude as a state is not towards the Russian people, towards Russia, but towards the aggressive behavior of the Russian Federation and the authorities in the Russian Federation, which threatens world peace by destroying the basic principles on which peace in the world and in Europe is based.
- In such a situation, we cannot remain neutral, we do not give weapons to Ukraine to attack, we help Ukraine to defend itself. Ukrainian soldiers and Ukrainian people are fighting for both our peace and our values. We, with the fact that we are part of the value system dominated by respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of independent states, the rule of law, democracy, human rights, show that we are on the right side of history and we will continue as long as necessary, says Osmani .
According to him, bilateral relations with Russia are much less important than endangering the peace that began "with this aggressive behavior of Russia, which also opens Pandora's box for similar enactment of authoritarian regimes."
