The Norwegian government has said it plans a five-year aid package for Ukraine worth 75 billion kroner ($7,3 billion), as well as additional aid for other countries affected by the conflict.

– We suggest that Norway make a binding and permanent contribution to Ukraine. We propose that 15 billion kroner be given annually to Ukraine for five years, or 75 billion kroner, Prime Minister Jonas Gar Store said.

This year's package is expected to be for humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine.

The final amount of the package, however, could be changed by Parliament, where the center-left government lacks a majority and relies on the support of other parties to pass laws.
