The Municipality of Centar wants to produce electricity
The municipality of Centar is trying to find solutions for the high price of electricity, and the mayor Goran Gerasimovski tonight in Thelma's Top Topic stated that they are considering the possibility of establishing their own company for the production of electricity.
"The Municipality of Centar established a commission in order to make a feasibility study that should determine the possibilities of all those public facilities such as schools and kindergartens, including the PE POC, to see the possibilities of installing photovoltaics on all facilities. In addition, at tomorrow's session, we put an item on the agenda, that is, the Initiative for the establishment of a public enterprise, which would be for the production of electricity. Let's see how we could form the same. We have gained a lot of experience from all the meetings we have with the working group of ZELS and with government institutions, and I believe that there we will find a partial solution for reducing electricity prices," said Gerasimovski.
Gerasimovski emphasized that for the opening of the municipal company for the production of electricity, the possibilities of installing photovoltaics on each roof of the school are being considered, in addition, what the capacities will be, how much the damage will be and what the costs will be for installing them.
"We are looking at proposals whether it should be through a public private partnership, whether it should be paid for 10 years or three years. "We will consider all possibilities and soon we will make decisions on how we will install all the photovoltaics," said Gerasimovski.
Gerasimovski also said that measures to save electricity have already been started in the Municipality of Centar, first by inspecting the electricity meters where the bills show high amounts, after which it turned out that there are electricity meters that are run by another municipality, and paid by the Municipality of Centar.
The municipality also said that it started with restrictions by turning off part of the street lighting. Gerasimovski announced a rebalancing of the budget with efforts not to cut capital projects. Regarding schools and kindergartens, he was decisive "I will do my best as mayor so that children do not stay at home", said Gerasimovski.
