Supermodel Iman created her first perfume, dedicating the fragrance story to her late husband David Bowie - "my eternal love and devotion to my husband".

After the death of her husband David Bowie in 2016, supermodel Iman began to wear exclusively her favorite scent, the vetiver scent by Tom Ford. Now, she has processed the scent of the tree in her debut scent, "Love Memoir", in honor of the late music icon.

"I thought, in fact, that I went through and processed my grievances. "I did not do that because I was caring for my daughter, who was still a teenager when he died," Iman said of the process after Bowie died of cancer five years ago.

It was only during the coronavirus locks - which housed her in the North New York house the couple built together - that she finally coped with the loss, she explains, and gradually created the perfume project.

"I could not escape. "I had nowhere to go but through the process of grief, and the memories are what kept me going," she added.

Blended vetiver with notes of bergamot, rose, French vanilla and black currant, the fragrance includes references to the entire range of Iman's relationship with Bowie.

"One of the scents that really meant a lot to me was bergamot because it reminded me of Italy. "Every note for me evokes those memories and special times we shared," she said, recalling their marriage and their 1992 trip to Florence, Tuscany.

On the other hand, Iman returned to everyday life at her New York home for the Love Memoir bottle - an amber oval with a gold cap - drawing inspiration from the sunsets she watched daily, as well as the stones she lined up like horses in the garden. as "monuments" to Bowie.

"What was really clear to me is that at the end of our days the most important and most precious thing that we hold and will sustain us for the rest of our lives are our memories that we have shared with our loved ones. "The scent was truly a tribute to my love - my eternal love and devotion to my husband."
