Boulder, Colorado, U.S. authorities have ordered the evacuation of about 19.000 people due to the rapid spread of wildfires.

The Boulder Office of Emergency Management announced on Twitter that among those ordered to leave were people connected to about 8.000 homes near the fire. The large animals were accepted at a fair in Boulder County, authorities said.

The fire is estimated to have grown rapidly from 60 acres to 123 acres, the office said. There was zero restraint, it is said.

A spokeswoman for the fire department, Maria Washburn, said the warm weather and strong winds had helped to spread the fire, but also that the wind was now reduced, which was in favor of firefighters.

Authorities investigating the source of the fire said it started south of the Mesa lab, where there is a basin, a canyon and paths that run from east to west to the Rocky Mountains.
