Britain's King Charles' visit to France has been postponed after French unions called for strikes and protests during his stay, the Elysee Palace said today.

King Charles was due to make his first state visit to France as monarch on Sunday.

The visit was planned to last three days.

In view of yesterday's announcement of national protests against the pension system reforms, which are to be organized on Tuesday, the visit of King Charles, scheduled for March 26 to 29, will be postponed, according to a statement from the Elysée Palace.
