The Macedonian men's volleyball senior national team losses from Израел with 3:2 after sets (26:24, 25:22, 22:25, 24:26, 15:9) in the last match of the traditional memorial tournament "Branko Hadziiljoski Chaika".

The opponent was a great test for our national team before the qualifying matches for the 2026 European Championship with Georgia and Greece on August 17 and 25. Previously, our volleyball players won the "Seagull" tournament over Kosovo with 3:0 (25:12, 25:7, 25:19).

The Israelis won the first two sets, the "red-yellow" equalized, but failed to make a complete turnaround, so with two wins they won the first place. We are second with a triumph over Kosovo and a defeat against Israel.

Captain Nikola Gjordjiev was the most effective in the match in the "Park" hall in Strumica with 24 points, Aleksandar Ljaftov scored 19, Filip Majunkov was also in double figures with 13. Filip Savovski had nine points, Vlado Milev eight, Gjorgi Gjorjiev three, and reserve Filil Lepidovski noted one point.

The chosen ones of the selector Hari Nakovski had a lower attack percentage than the Israelis, they formed one active block more, but they had three less aces, so they lost for the second time against today's rival in the preparations for the qualifications for the continental meeting. Earlier, they measured their strength in a joint training session on Wednesday.
Until the trip to Georgia on Friday, the Macedonian volleyball players will train in Strumica and thus try to reach the necessary form.
