Iran repelled an attack by drones on a military site in Isfahan in the central part of the country overnight, the Ministry of Defense said.

"The attack, which failed, was carried out by drones on one of the equipment complexes of the Ministry of Defense", the statement said, adding that there were no victims in the attack.

The authorities have not announced whose drones attacked the military base.

As reported by the IRNA news agency, minor material damage was caused "to the roof of a building".

The ministry said that the anti-aircraft defense system destroyed one drone, and that two more exploded.

"The attack that happened on Saturday around 23:30 p.m. local time did not cause any disruption in the operation of the complex," the statement added.

An official in Isfahan province said the investigation into the attack was ongoing.

Authorities are not releasing details about the activities at the target facility.
