When and how did you get acquainted with comics?

- I have a feeling that comics have always been present in me. I have been drawing since I was a child, when I was in kindergarten, but specifically I got acquainted with comics for the first time in the third grade when in one of the two kiosks in my neighborhood I saw the cover of the comic book "Tarzan" by then Yugoslav authors. It was love at first sight. I immediately bought it and was stunned by the beauty above all in the drawing. I immediately said to myself, when I grow up I want to know how to draw like this. From that moment on, the comic is with me every day with undiminished intensity and love.

How did you learn to draw?

- Considering that we still do not have a specific educational institution, ie a faculty, where comics are studied properly and deservedly, I learned to draw by myself. Apart from the standard classes in art education in primary and secondary education and two drawing subjects in the first and second year of the Faculty of Architecture, I have not attended other classes. I learn everything that has to do with the specific drawing of comics. I think I'm still learning, so I'm talking in the present tense. The beauty of comics is that there is always something new to learn. I study analyzing comics by authors whose works I love and who have a great influence on me, and there are many such authors.

What is the reason for the love of western drawing style?

- My love for western themes, at first western movies started a long time ago, when I was a "kid". I first came in contact with the western movies with John Wayne, which were often shown on television at the time, but then I was not so obsessed with all the western magic. The real fall in love was when I watched Sergio Leone's movies, with the inimitable Clint Eastwood in the lead roles. When I discovered comics like Tex Wheeler, Colonel Blueberry, Comanche and others, somehow the picture came complete. I have always been interested in all that magic about the classic characters from the Wild West, their image, their behavior, all those western landscapes, towns, "saloons", etc.

What is the magic of comics?

- I do not believe that even those who know me better would have a concrete answer to this question. Probably that combination of drawing, text, framing that is similar and reminiscent of framing in movies does the magic that overwhelms true comic book lovers and never leaves them. There is simply something that can not be explained in those magical squares that seem to move and tell a story.

Do you have a successor?

- It can be said, no matter how early it may be. My daughter is a lover of drawing and for now she knows what a comic is, she knows how to follow a story, she knows how to take a comic from our comic book library and spend time leafing through and analyzing how it is done. Otherwise, he often draws and obviously progresses in that.

How did you discover Maria's talent?

- It was easy to see that in her. For two or three years he drew relatively specific things. He never scribbled on paper, he always had a specific idea and the flow of the drawing.

What does Maria want to draw the most?

- Wants to draw specific characters from cartoons, both classic and characters from newer and more modern cartoons. She works mostly in watercolor because as she says - I can shade well. He does not like many felt-tip pens, but he also likes to shade with wooden crayons and a pencil. Lately he has been showing more interest in drawing anatomy of the human body and wants, like the great artists, to know how to draw figures that would be very realistic.

What would you advise comic book lovers?

- Well, when they are already fans of comic art, it means that they will be all their lives, and that is a beautiful thing. And for advice, um, I would like them to read good comics that will entertain them, sometimes they may imagine, sometimes they smile, sometimes they get sad. And I would greet the young fans who also want to be comic book authors and I would recommend them to be persistent, persistent, to draw and progress on a daily basis and to normally try to find a way to publish their works and thus present them to other comic book lovers.
