The New York State Attorney's Office has launched an investigation into Governor Cuomo
The New York State Attorney's Office has received approval to open an investigation against Governor Andrew Cuomo on charges of sexual harassment..
"Today we received a letter of motivation authorizing our office to pursue an independent investigation into allegations of sexual harassment against Governor Cuomo." wrote Attorney General Laetizia James.
Earlier, two women, formerly subordinate to Cuomo, Charlotte Bennett and Linzi Boylan, testified that they had been sexually abused by the governor. He denies both cases. Bennett filed an indictment against Cuomo on Saturday, Boylan in December 2020.
This is not the first scandal involving the governor in recent months. Earlier, US federal authorities and the Brooklyn prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the Cuomo administration, which is suspected of hiding the true number of coronavirus deaths in state nursing homes last spring and summer.
