Cloud of poisonous smoke over the Chilean metropolis, a large factory fire
A huge fire at a factory in Santiago has raised a cloud of thick gray smoke, causing some flights to the Chilean capital to be diverted and schools and kindergartens in the city to be closed.
The fire broke out at a building materials factory in the municipality of Kilicura in northern Santiago, and videos posted on social media show a pillar of black smoke rising in the sky and spreading over the city carried by the wind. transmits Reuters.

A report by the fire department and security office at Santiago International Airport said the smoke did not affect the operation of the terminal, but also confirmed that some planes flying from the south to the north of the country were diverted, the local press reported.
The advice is not to expose people to smoke and close the windows. If certain health problems occur, contact the nearest health facility, said Miguel Munoz, regional director of the National Emergency Office (Onemi).
He warned reporters that all types of smoke are toxic and that the impact of pollution on human health will largely depend on smoke exposure and concentration, urging citizens to avoid physical activity outdoors.
