The basic public prosecutor's office in Kočani will conduct an investigative procedure against a 24-year-old man for whom there is a well-founded suspicion that he committed the crime of attempted murder.

 On September 13, in the evening, the suspect agreed with the victim to meet in the parking lot near the Freedom Monument in Kočani for the purpose of buying and selling a mobile phone. When they met at the specified place, the suspect got into the victim's vehicle, sat in the passenger seat and started talking to him and looking at his mobile phone. After a short time, he took out a knife from his pocket and struck him in a vital part of the body in the area of ​​the head and neck below the chin, inflicting an open wound of about 2-3 cm. The knife broke, and the suspect continued to hit the victim several more times with the handle. The attacked grabbed his hand and stopped him, after which the suspect got out of the vehicle and ran away from the scene, according to the state Public Prosecutor's Office.

From there, they add that due to the danger of escape, the possibility of influencing the witnesses and obstructing the criminal proceedings, but also a real threat to repeat or complete the attempted crime, the public prosecutor submitted a proposal to the judge of the preliminary proceedings from the Basic Court in Kočani determining the measure of detention. The court accepted the merits of the proposal and ordered the suspect to be detained for 30 days.
