The newly elected president of Iran has reappointed Mohammad Eslami as the head of Iran's nuclear program

Newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reappointed Mohammad Eslami as head of Iran's nuclear program, Iranian media reported.

"Due to your valuable management experience, I am appointing you as vice president and head of the Atomic Energy Organization," President Pezeshkian said in a statement on his appointment carried by Iranian state media.

Sixty-seven-year-old Mohammad Eslami will continue his work as head of Iran's nuclear program and will be one of several vice presidents of the country. As reported by foreign agencies, he was educated in the United States and was under UN sanctions 16 years ago.
