New threats to Miroslava Simonovska from a fake Facebook profile: We are following you, taking pictures of you!
Simonovska reported the threats from a profile created with her name and surname on the social network Facebook at the Karposh Police Station, and the Ministry of the Interior says that measures are being taken to clear up the case.
After an unauthorized recording of "Sloboden Pechat" journalist Miroslava Simonovska was published these days, she reported today that she was being threatened by a fake profile, created with her name and surname on the social network Facebook, where, among other things, there is the message "We are following you" , we take a picture of you."
Simonovska reported the threats to the Karposh Police Station, and the Ministry of the Interior says that measures are being taken to clear up the case.
The Association of Journalists of Macedonia and the Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers reacted to the case of the unauthorized recording of our journalist and the distribution of a video of her allegedly receiving documents, which expressed serious concern over the latest violation of the fundamental rights of the journalist. Simonovska, on the other hand, submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje for unauthorized recording by an official.
This video, which was forwarded to national television by the head of the High Public Prosecutor's Office, Mustafa Hajrulahi, raises serious questions about privacy, illegal surveillance and the rights of journalists in Macedonia. The publication of an illegally recorded video by the journalist Miroslava Simonovska violates her privacy and her fundamental rights, regardless of the fact that the published video material has protected identities. Every journalist has the right to move freely and communicate with citizens without fear of illegal monitoring or violation of privacy - it is stated in the press release from ZNM and SSNM.
From there, they asked the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office to immediately and without delay conduct a thorough investigation in connection with this case and called on the competent institutions to protect the rights and safety of journalists.
